Wayne St. Wayne mural (at Mangia restaurant on South Grand)
bathroom remodeling articles

"…Mangia Italiano, the engagingly Bohemian restaurant and bar that has long been a destination in the South Grand neighborhood.
New owners David Burmeister, Landis Irvin, Paul Smith and Russell Davis reopened Mangia Italiano in February after several months of remodeling…
Mangia’s renovation was extensive, with a complete redo of the kitchen, bathrooms, floors and building systems. While some devotees had worried that the transition in ownership might alter the essential character of the place, much of the restaurant’s previous style and tone has remained intact…
…a group of regulars hanging out at the bar or, weather permitting, gathered at the tables on the sidewalk out front. The guy with the paint smudges is likely to be Wayne St. Wayne, a kind of artist-in-residence at Mangia.
For several years St. Wayne has been transforming one of the restaurant’s walls with an epic mural depicting the evolution of the universe and the sweep of human history. Executed with expressive bursts of acrylic paint and puckish nods to popular culture, this ambitious work-in-progress dominates one of the dining room’s walls and serves as a kind of divining rod for Mangia’s offbeat and engaging energy."
